About Program

In May of 2014, the North Carolina Transportation Museum gathered together 26 classic locomotives from around the United States for a four-day spectacular called "Streamliners at Spencer". Enjoy a parade of color and motion as F-units, E-units, ALCOs, and one famous steam locomotive congregate at the museum grounds at this historic event.

TrainMasters TV's crew shot ten hours of footage with two cameras during the event, and the result is a three-part documentary made just for railfans.

Part one and two aired in the July 2014 edition of TrainMasters TV.  Part three of the documentary aired in August.

In part three, we tour a freshly-repainted New Haven FL9, learn about efforts to return N&W 611 to steam, and spend some time with a smoke-belching ALCO.  The piece concludes with some of the participants' own Streamliner memories.

In Act IV, Miles Hale discusses trackplanning design in "Back to the Basement".
